A while back I was interviewed by Zara Adcock for the Review Review in a piece titled: A Journal Focused On East and Southeast Asia: Graham Lawrence on Eastlit.
This interview was mostly about Eastlit, the monthly literature and art journal that I started almost two years ago now. However, in a world so increasingly divided by stupid nationalistic ideals decided by leaders rather than people, I am still happy I said the piece below. It is my personal experience.
What are your favourite things about Asia? Any dislikes? Anything you miss from Western culture? What makes this part of the world feel like home to you?
This is a funny one because the longer I live the more I find people anywhere in the world are more or less the same. They want a better life for their kids and a few extra things in their lives. People are mostly naturally good too. So at a level of humanity, I find the same the world over.
There is a lot more in the interview. If you haven’t seen it, why not take a look?
