I have just been analysing some statistics from Eastlit. The year on year growth of our literature and art journal remains strong:
Comparing March 2014 to March 2013 sees an increase of 282% in readers and an increase of 241% in pages read. This is looking at the most conservative statistics we have.
Previous months saw growth of:
February 2014 compared to February 2013: +161%
January 2014 compared to January 2013: + 172%
December 2013 compared to December 2012: +46%
It satisfying to see this as a publisher. It is also satisfying to know that the great writing, poetry and art submitted is gaining an ever bigger audience. The whole voluntary and advertisement free concept of Eastlit was to create a space to highlight works on or connected to East and South East Asia and to bring this to as big an audience as possible. It does seem like we are succeeding.
A big thanks to all the readers of Eastlit and also to all those who have contributed their work. A big thanks also to our editorial board and to all the advisers and team members. The Eastlit project relies on this community remaining strong and vibrant.
With the launch of the South Asian writing, poetry and art project growing ever closer, it is good to know that we are going to be building that on an already strong idea. The future right now looks bright.
